Abstract

The need for definitive driver specifications and the identification of the design driver is discussed. It is noted that while roadway and vehicle specifications currently exist they do not always incorporate the appropriate driver characteristics. The lack of communications, coordination and cooperation between the roadway, vehicle and driver entities are cited as a reason for the disparity in specification compatibility.
