Driver control in the trucking industry.

Abstract

In the motor carrier industry, driver control is the most important aspect of a safety program. Government regulations and government enforcement is stressed, because in large industry there are bound to be those carriers and drivers who would not comply with voluntary standards. Still a trucking industry's good safety record is primarily a result of voluntary programs.
