Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effect of different sign types and lane drop panel message on driver expectancies at freeway interchange lane drop and major splits. The study results indicate that lane drop panels significantly improve the correctness of driver's expectations of freeway interchange geometrics in terms of lane drop configurations.
