Abstract

This paper deals with how to prevent accidents due to driver impairment. The aim is to develop a vigilance state detection device. The vigilance at the beginning of drowsiness is characterized. Empirical studies are discussed and several parameters in real traffic are compared. (The full paper is not included in the conference proceedings).
