Abstract

Attitudes and expectations a road user has when using the traffic system is essential. There are manifold interactions between user and traffic system. Everything depends on the values and attitudes of the road user. The better adjusted to the traffic situation they are the better it is for traffic safety. In which way can safety attitudes and safe behaviour realized? Three driver improvement programs as special prevention used in Austria are presented in more detail and their efficiency is discussed.
