Abstract

In this research, data from the National Crashworthiness Data System was examined to identify the role of driver distraction in U.S. traffic crashes and determine the primary sources of distraction. The effects of selected roadway and environmental factors on driver distraction were also examined. Results reveal that a wide range of distracting behaviors contribute to crashes.
