Driver information systems update (1994-1996).

This issue of Current Topics in Transport includes over 70 abstracts of some of the published literature (reports, conference papers, books and journal articles) on the systems for information on route and parking guidance, traffic conditions, weather warnings etc, which can now be made available to drivers either from the roadside and from within the car. Tests and trials, field studies, simulations and case studies covering the application of such systems in the UK, Europe, USA, Japan and other countries are included. Many abstracts focus on the motorist's response to real time traffic information and the evaluation of advanced traveller information systems.
