Abstract

The role that driver licensing and selection plays as a countermeasure in traffic safety has been and continues to be questioned. It will be necessary to facilitate the processing of the individual license while deriving more objective measures of his performance. There must be more emphasis on a coordinated multidisciplinary approach to traffic problems encompassing engineers, psychological, automotive manufacturers, educators, legislators and enforcement officials.
