Abstract

Volume II consists of a review of the research on the personality characteristic of field dependence as it relates to driver behavior and accident involvement. The review is divided into two parts. The first part is concerned with the nature of field dependence as a theoretical concept, its relationship to other measures of individual differences, and its methods of measurement. The second part deals with the relationship between field dependence and highway safety in terms of driving behavior and accident involvement.
