Abstract

Findings of a field demonstration study are summarized to determine the requirements for grade-crossing-accident countermeasures. Information is obtained on driver behaviour knowledge, and attitudes by using the traffic-evaluator system, time-lapse photograhy, and questionnaires. A review of the safety-related factors brought to the grade-crossings situation by the driver is also made.
