Abstract

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the training, testing and licensing of drivers in the United Kingdom and abroad. Topics include driver training for all types of vehicle, as well as specialist courses, for example on hazard perception, rehabilitation courses, for traffic offenders, comparing driver training for cars, buses, lorries, courses for the Police, for advanced drivers, for skid training etc. Also included are abstracts on the use of the simulator for driver training, and the psychology of driving. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 2000 and 2001. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
