Abstract

Technological development has vastly increased the nature of the information and facilities available for drivers and other users of vehicles on the roads today. The human vehicle interaction is now becoming the key issue in the effective and safe use of such technology. The role of the human factor engineer is not only to ensure that the characteristics and requirements of the various users of the technology are adequately taken into account but also to make a valuable contribution throughout the different stages of the design process.
