Abstract

Field studies of driver behaviour are reviewed and the role of traffic engineering measures in influencing the driver on the road is examined, together with the effects of road safety publicity campaigns. Efforts have been made in Hungary to extend the role of radio and television to safety propaganda. Little is known about the effects of such efforts, evaluation methods should be developed further.
