Abstract

Details are given of research being carried out at TRRL in the field of driver aids: development of the head-up display speedometer; the station keeping indicator to advise drivers on safe following distance; research on the concept of aural communication; study of problems associated with night driving and work on the improvement of vehicle lighting, and development of the dual-mode vehicle as the ultimate in personal transport.
