Abstract

It is a common belief that many drivers continue to drive while disqualified and do not reinstatement of their licenses when permitted to do so. This paper presents a preliminary examination of this issue and discusses possible road safety implications. The mandatory penalty for this offence in Victoria is disqualification from driving for a minimum period of six months. The length is dependent of the BAC and /or recidivism.
