Abstract

In Japan, sufficient studies have not been made on the utilization of the Vehicle Information and Communication System (VICS), one of the main factors of ITS, by VICS unit-equipped vehicles, and other related subjects. In this paper, driving characteristics of VICS unit-equipped vehicles using up-link information received via infrared beacons installed on National Route 2, which is an important route in terms of traffic systems, are analyzed.
