Driving at requested speed : comparison of projected and virtual image displays.

Abstract

Using projected image and virtual image displays in a driving simulator, a study was completed on driver's ability to drive at five experimentor-requested speeds. No differences were found between the display techniques. However, the use of both displays resulted in speed over-estimation above 30 mph.
