Abstract

Willingness to use marijuana and alcohol before driving an automobile is declining among high school students. For 6 consecutive years, 30, 000 11th graders in Pennsylvania public schools answered questions regarding their situational use of marijuana and beer. The results showed an 11% decrease in willingness to drive after using marijuana or alcohol. The researchers offer a number of explanations for the trend.
