Abstract

A survey was carried out on 500 drivers in Bedfordshire England. Details of the type of drugs taken by these drivers and the frequency of their use were collected. The use of alcohol and the effect of taking medication on alcohol use were also investigated. No significant alteration to their drinking habits during the period on medication was found among these drivers. This suggests a number of these drivers were at risk from interactions between their medication and alcohol.
