Abstract

The report presents the results of a study of the relationship between drugs (other than alcohol alone) and highway safety. The state of the art of current research is examined. Conclusions and recommendations for future action and research are made. Topics examined include epidemiological studies, experimental studies, analytical methods for measurement of drug presence, measurement of drug effects on behaviour, and legal constraints on drug/driving research and countermeasure development.
