Abstract

Drunk driving is the greatest cause of violent deaths in the USA- the toll is over 500 per week. Because legislative and judicial processes have not curbed the drunk driver, government and industry are turning to technology for a foolproof mechanical means of preventing drunks from driving. This article reports on several systems that have been developed and are currently being evaluated.
