"Drunkenness" from benzodiazepines.

Abstract

Every year several hundred blood and urine samples of persons involved in road traffic accidents and who are suspected of taking drugs, are investigated. In far than 100 cases a year the presence of psychotropic substances or the metabolites can be proved, through the effect of alcohol is dominant. In this study only 36 cases without alcohol or a BAC up to 0. 5 per mille were investigated. Diazepam, Nordiazepam, Bromazepam, Oxazepam and Lorazepam were found.
