Abstract

The logical innovation in urban transportation, both public and private, consists of fractional second headway, small vehicle automated guideway systems with vehicles capable of dual mode operation. These would be integrated systems serving both public and private transportation needs. The impacts of the external costs, particularly in the energy and environmental areas, are examined.
