Abstract

The last years there has been a strong increase of the number of traffic offences in the Netherlands. Following a first investigation into jumping the lights among drivers whereby objective measurements of the behaviour and supplemental psychological data including self-reporting could be linked, a second study of the same kind has been conducted in explaining double-parking. A social psychological model is used as a theoretical framework, which model already appeared to be successful in explaining tax fraud, abuse of allowances and jumping the lights.
