In april 1994 heeft de Adviesdienst Verkeer en Vervoer van Rijkswaterstaat het Basisdocument onderzoek en advies duurzaam-veilig verkeers- en vervoersysteem doen verschijnen. Hierin wordt globaal aangegeven welke activiteiten deze dienst in de komende jaren op het terrein van `duurzaam- veilig' nodig acht. Het document formuleert voor vijftien voorgenomen projecten de te beantwoorden beleidsvragen, de te boeken resultaten en de op te leveren produkten. Om de uitvoering van de projectvoorstellen te bespoedigen is voor elk van de vijftien onderwerpen nagegaan: -welke initiatieven actoren op het gebied van de verkeersveiligheid intussen hebben ontplooid en ontplooien in de geest van `duurzaam- veilig'; -welke initiatieven de onderzoek- en adviesbureaus op dit gebied hebben ontplooid en ontplooien; -welke geconstateerde stromingen binnen de (verkeers)wetenschappelijke wereld van belang zijn voor de verdere ontwikkeling van het concept. De bevindingen van deze analyse worden vermeld, gevolgd door een weergave van het standpunt van de SWOV ter zake van elk onderwerp
In April 1994, the Netherlands Transport Research Centre (AVV) of the Ministry of Public Works published the ‘Foundation document on research and recommendations for a sustainable, safe traffic and transport system'. It offers a broad description of the activities this division considers necessary in the coming years in the field of 'sustainable-safe transport'. The document formulates the policy questions to be answered for fifteen proposed projects, their anticipated results and the ensuing products. In order to accelerate the realisation of the proposed projects, the following was investigated for each of the fifteen subjects: -which initiatives in the field of road safety have meantime been developed and are in the process of development in the sense of 'sustainable-safe' objectives; -which initiatives have the research organisations and consultancies developed, or are they developing, in this field; -which trends within the scientific (traffic) world are of importance for the further development of this concept. The findings of this analysis are reported, followed by a description of the standpoint taken by the SWOV with respect to each subject
