Abstract

Developments in the rural area influences the number of trips and therefore also the environment and safety. Less supermarkets and schools, up scaling of the agriculture and increasing recreational use are developments that lead to other trips and a different use of the infrastructure. These developments need an active role of the traffic-engineer, aimed for the control of mobility in stead of trying tot decrease mobility. Traffic should be lead to the routes en places preferable on to safety and environment. (Author/publisher)
