Abstract

This study documents the dynamic performance of a series of child safety seats manufactured since the introduction of the federal standard for child seating systems, as well as the performance of a new seat concept developed during the research. All of the seats were tested with the aid of simulators under conditions of frontal impact with additional lateral and rear impacts performed where dictated by the program goals.
