Abstract

The paper reports on a mathematical model of the part 572 neck which can be used to study dummy neck response analytically without the need for costly sled or crash tests. The model can also be used to study design changes and their effect on neck response. The model is validated using data obtained from pendulum testing of the head- neck assembly.
