Abstract

Dynamic tests were carried out with lap sash seat belts in their conventional configuration, and with energy absorbers. When tested with a sled acceleration of 240 m/s ² the forces in the straps of the energy absorbing system were 30% lower than those in the conventional system, and the seat force was ± 50% lower.
