Abstract

Techniques and instrumentation used in full scale dynamic tests on highway bridges are described. The tests are designed to provide sufficiently detailed information to enable theoretical methods of analysis to be developed for design purposes. The analysis and presentation of the experimental data is outlined and the need for detailed information on vehicle dynamic properties and pedestrian loading characteristics is discussed.
