Abstract

This paper describes the administrative and organisational frameworks for the introduction of dynamic traffic management on the Dutch primary road network. The organisational frameworks concern the introduction and operational commissioning of new frameworks or systems and organisational units. The new functions include the national traffic manager and regional traffic managers. The new organisational units include the National Traffic Management Centre, five regional Traffic Management Centres (RTMCs) and the Traffic Information Centre. The administrative frameworks refer to co-operation with other parties, including the police and authorities of the secondary road networks.
