Abstract

The routing of vehicles in many urban service systems frequently requires estimation of travel time in real time. Some estimation techniques use predetermined constant parameters to express the travel time estimate as a function of the coordinates of the two points, and these techniques ara described as static because of their insensitivity to changing conditions of the network. A dynamic approach to the problem is proposed.
