Abstract

Do drivers and other road system users need more or different information from that provided at present? How can our increased ability to customise information be used to meet the dynamic needs of drivers and operators? The paper addresses these issues before describing a project underway at CSIRO to research and develop an in- vehicle information system. The 'intrinsic' project is conceived as an integrated traffic control and information system.
