Abstract

This paper describes the transient response of an automobile during sudden braking and acceleration maneuvers in rectilinear motion wherein pitch angle, angular velocity of pitch tire forces, etc., can be calculated. Comparison is shown between front wheel, rear wheel, four wheel and cross wheel braking. The effect of a bump or road evenness is also discussed.
