Abstract

Dazzling flashes from a car's lights, though blinding for the next instant, at night leave no prolonged effect. Log thresholds following bleaching above about 10% lay exactly on the exponential regeneration curves of rhodopsin but those following bleaching of less than 10% rise substantially above the expected curve at early times in the dark. This paper investigates the nature of this divergence.
