Abstract

Three alternative methods are described in sufficient detail to enable the reader to use them in practice. The first is a manual method for the detailed analysis of alternative engineering proposals. Various forms and a set of vehicle operating cost essential to the calculations are included. The second method is a computerized version of the first; full details of this method are given in CICTRAN Manual P3. The third method is a short-cut. It produces a rough indication of the relative economics of several proposals in cases where detailed analysis is not warranted.
