Abstract

Few programmes for providing cycle facilities are assessed on an economic basis using the "normal" methods traditionally used by transport planners and economists for assessing other proposals for investment in transport infrastructure. This paper sets out to demonstrate that traditional methods of assessment of transport infrastructure projects are perfectly applicable to cycle facilities and can be used to demonstrate that providing cycle facilities do provide value for money.
