Abstract

A brief review is presented of some international publications in the area of the costs of traffic accidents. From each publication is tried to show which costs in the study are considered. Costs can be damage to vehicles, medical costs, insurance costs, costs of police and authority, loss of income, emergency costs, productivity loss etc. There is no homogeneity in the different studies. For the loss of productivity by traffic accidents some definitions are presented.
