Abstract

The basic principles of the Amsterdam transportation model are described. This is introduced by an inventory of wishes and the possibilities to meet them by existing models. In the Amsterdam model the transportation patterns can be explained by an accessibility measure and the characteristics of urban activities. In order to apply the accessibility factor it is agregated to the level of interdistricts accessibility. The model can be run with existing computer software for entropy maximising models.
