Abstract

The moped of today should be divided into two categories: 1) A bicycle with motor or snorfiets with a maximum speed of 20-25 km/h. The motor most be constructed in such a way that increasing the speed is impossible. Drivers on such mopeds can use the specific bicycle provisions. Minimum age for the driver should be 16 and a driving licence is not needed. 2) A lightweight motorcycle with a maximum speed of 50-60 km/h with a legal place in motorized traffic. Minimum driver age should be 18, and a driving licence is mandatory.
