Abstract

In the public transport within the city, the stopping time makes a considerable part of the total travel time. Thereby, the travel speed remains too low and for many unacceptable. For a radical improvement, an unorthodox approach looks appropriate; breaking up the transport lines in many direct connections, without intermediate stations. In this decomposition model, bus lines are considered primarily, while partial breaking up of tram connections is possible also.
