Abstract

In this study it is found that mode choice can be predicted reasonably well from subjective variables. The multiple correlation between attitude, subjective norm and travel behaviour is .72. The contribution of the attitudinal component to the predition is high (w= .70), that of subjective norm is very low (w= .04). Car drivers and bicycle riders differ in some specific beliefs.
