From a home interview conducted in the rural area of the province of Friesland (the Netherlands) various data were derived about vehicle ownership (0.79 bicycles and 0.18 cars per caput), trip production (2.80 p.c. on working days) and factors like sex and age, social and income classes and Guttman- scale. 80.5% of the trips is home- based. Most frequent are trips to and from school, work and shopping. Of all trips 67% is made by means of a vehicle, 69% takes 10 minutes or less and two – thirds of the trips is shorter than 2 kms. The volume of trip attraction on working days is 1.21 p.c.
