Abstract
After a survey of the special characteristics needed for a luminance meter for streetlighting, a description is given of such an instrument intended for everyday use in public lighting installations. No special photometric training is needed by personnel using this meter. The instrument is designed for measurement of local and also average luminance values, the latter measurements being made so quickly that they can be carried out from a moving car. (Author/publisher)
