Abstract

An experiment was held in The Hague near a school complex with three speed signs. All these signs resulted in a reduction of the speed of cars. It may be assumed that this reduction will result in a reduction of the probability of an accident and injury and of the injury-severity. The quantitative effects of a speed reduction in terms of accident rate as found in the literature is discussed.
