Abstract
It is shown that the use of a joint telecommunication network in de E.C. is much cheaper, than if each country has his own network. The fundamental principles of this EURONET are described, the task of the national telephone companies and of the European administrations are mentioned, the use of the system and the different sectors of documentation systems are discussed. Finally financial aspects and provisions for the future are given.
