Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyse reported casually accident and speed data for the State of Victoria to assess whether the 1974 downturn in casually accidents was associated with the introduction of the Absolute Speed Limit. A contributory effect was shown. In addition it is suggested that to maintain the speed limit enforcement levels and public education need to be increased.
