Abstract

There are at present no recommendations for allowing for the effect of atmospheric attenuation in the area of floodlighting and road lighting schemes. The paper describes measurements on the atmospheric attenuation and uses the data obtained in design calculations. An instrument has been constructed for measuring the changes in atmospheric attenuation. A luminance meter was used to calibrate the automatic instrument.
