Abstract

Accident occurrence for relationships to roadway with horizontal curvature, vertical clearance, and restricted sight distance, is studied. It is concluded that vertical clearance had no effect on accident rates but that restricted sight distance and horizontal curvature probably did have some effect. Other uncontrolled variables influenced the ability of the researches to draw firm conclusions about the variables studied.
