Abstract

As a part of the Road User Cost Study, an investigation was conducted at the Central Road Research Institute, New Delhi, on determination of relationships between free speeds of different types of vehicles and some of the factors likely to influence free speeds. The investigation was based on the assumption that free speeds of vehicles on individual curves depended on important factors such as curve radius, sight distance and roughness. The Paper gives an account of the investigation work and presents the results.
